After reporter Isabel DeLeon (Genesis Rodriguez) and financial analyst Jay Batra (Suraj Sharma) unlock the financial records and recordings in the encrypyted Monroe drive, she is told by The Financial Register’s legal team that in order to report their findings publicly, she’ll need Walcott Capital bank CEO Freya Myers – who laundered campaign funds for President Richard Hagan (Ward Horton) – to go on the record.
As you might expect, Freya isn’t keen on the idea, but her attitude changes when she realises the president has sent a team of ex-military Night Agents, including Adam (David Lyons) to hunt her down. In the final episode, this results in an escort mission across New York, as Peter (Gabriel Basso) tracks Freya down inside Grand Central Station to guide her to safety.
After an encounter in the subway, Peter is faced with his Night Action partner Adam, who shoots him in the leg. Peter manages to convince Adam to question his orders from Hagan, saying how he’s no longer a soldier, but a politician. The former soldier eventually lowers his gun, allowing Peter to deliver Freya safely to The Financial Register offices.
At The Financial Register, Freya is interviewed by Isabel on a public broadcast where she admits that the Hagans used her shadow division within the bank to launder campaign funds, outing the president as a criminal.
What happens to the Hagans?
In a news broadcast after Freya’s interview, we see Richard Hagan has pardoned himself and his wife ahead of their Senate conviction. While they have left the White House, the family also have a new media deal, so justice hasn’t exactly been served.

Is Freya killed at the end of The Night Agent season 3?
Towards the end of the episode, we see Freya in a bar where she’s approached by the assassin known only as The Father (Stephen Moyer), who she once hired but never actually met. The Father offers to buy her a drink, but he secretly whips out a vial, presumably filled with poison, and slips it into her “perfect martini”.
While we don’t see Freya being killed on-screen, the show’s creator Shawn Ryan appeared to confirm her fate in an interview with Tudum. “It’s safe to assume Freya did not get out of that bar alive,” Ryan said.
Where do we leave Peter and how does it set up season 4?
In the final scene, Peter tells Aiden Mosley (Albert Jones) that he wants to take a break from Night Action, in order to find a better balance in his life.
However, while it appears as if Peter is out of the game for the time being, Aiden teases that he has a “candidate in mind” in response to his prior request for a partner. According to show creator Shawn Ryan, this is “meant to be a launching pad for season four”.
