Derry Girls creator Lisa McGee returns with a different kind of comedy series in How To Get To Heaven From Belfast.
The Netflix comedy thriller follows tight-knit trio Saoirsie, Robyn and Dara who, in their late thirties, venture on an odyssey through Ireland following the death of an estranged fourth member of their childhood gang.
Roísín Gallagher, Sinéad Keenan and Caoilfhionn Dunne lead the show’s cast, alongside Darragh Hand, Bronagh Gallagher, Ardal O’Hanlon, Michelle Fairley, Natasha O’Keeffe and Saoirse-Monica Jackson.
All eight episodes of How To Get To Heaven From Belfast were released on 12 February, 2026.

As for whether it will be renewed, this will hinge on how many viewers it racks up for Netflix. However, based on the show’s early buzz, and the reputation of its creator, it certainly has a strong chance.

In an interview with Deadline, show creator Lisa McGee said she has been thinking about a potential second season, but nothing has been confirmed yet.
“I’ve left it open for a second series but it’s all completely down to how many people watch,” McGee said. “I’ve love to do one.”
