Six years of training across three continents have led to this moment for SWEET REVENGE, LDH’s groundbreaking global girl group. Selected from approximately 10,000 applicants at the 2018 Global Vocal Battle Auditions, the multinational trio of AGNES, LARISSA, and ASAMI has emerged as a force redefining what it means to be a modern pop act.
With Grammy-winning producer Jonathan Yip of The Stereotypes at the helm and the endorsement of international judge AFROJACK, SWEET REVENGE blends J-pop precision with international flair, creating a sound that transcends borders while honoring their diverse cultural roots.
Following their debut single “Might Just” and sophomore release “MU-CHU,” the group returns with “MINE,” a cinematic exploration of love’s darker, more obsessive side. Directed by Anisha Maya Kapoor as a psycho-cute short film, the track marks a creative evolution for SWEET REVENGE, showcasing them as narrative performers for the first time while delivering their signature blend of sweetness and femme fatale energy.
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, “MINE” arrives as the perfect anti-love song for the holiday—because sometimes cupid’s arrow hits a little too hard, and those heart-shaped chocolates come with a side of delicious obsession. The trio opens up about their creative process, the emotional depth behind “MINE,” and what it means to build a global dream together. “MINE” has a powerful visual and sonic identity — what inspired the concept behind the song and music video?
Director Anisha Maya Kapoor created a cinematic, psycho-cute short film that delivers a dark, cute and visually striking music video. The concept of “MINE” is portrayed through femme fatales who demand possession.
How does the creative process for “MINE” compare to your earlier singles like MU-CHU or Might Just?
Compared to Might Just and MU-CHU, the whole creative world of MINE was created around the lyrics. With MU-CHU, Niina the creative director focused on showing us off in 3 very different stylish looks wanting to let the viewer know we are a group that can pull off any style. In “Might just” Ayaka Ohira created this beautiful out-of-space world with our avatars, showing our individuality, playfulness, young spirits and Japanese culture through Anime.
MINE is a short film, all about the lyrics. This was also our first music-video where we played as narratives, with 2 actors playing the storyline.
Can you describe a memorable moment from the recording or music video shoot for “MINE”?
The song was made in february 2024 in LA. The best part was that we were in the room with all the creatives making this song. We were really a part of it and saw it come to live. One of the main writers was Nina Ann Nelson who is also part of a girlgroup (Citizen Queen) so she really understood what it’s like being in a girl group. This helped us bond with her really fast and we are the best of friends till this day!
What emotional message or story do you hope listeners take away from “MINE”?
This song can be heard in many ways. It can just be a cute, pure falling in love song. But we choose the more toxic side that we can also all relate to but sometimes are too scared to admit. When people are in love it can make you crazy. We all become a little ‘delulu’ and this song really shows that phase/feeling of love. The craving of wanting someone, becoming a little too obsessed, but also wanting to stay in control. The emotional rollercoaster of being in love.
Can you describe “MINE” in three emojis?

SWEET REVENGE is a global group — how do your cultural backgrounds influence your music and performance style?
For music style, English is our second language for all three of us. We are deeply inspired by our cultural roots (Larissa is Dutch, Agnes is Dutch and Guinean, Asami is Japanese), but we also grew up listening to global music, united by the same dream of becoming global superstars. The more music we make together the more our own sound will shape including all our cultural backgrounds. This is still the beginning and we can’t wait to represent all our layers with you.
Performance wise we are very much influenced by Japan, because we have been trained by the j-pop/k-pop way of training since the start of our group in 2018. You can see how many hours of training are put into our performance by how prepared we are and how synced we are. Our performance style is to be in sync while also showcasing our unique differences such as personalities, body types and cultural backgrounds on stage.
What’s one lesson you’d tell your younger selves?
Nothing will go as planned. Stay locked on the dream while adapting the route. Have patience, work with what you have and don’t give up. Never stop believing in youselves.
