After setting the stage ablaze in Manila, EL CAPITXN is bringing his first world tour, ‘2026 EL CAPITXN WORLD TOUR’, ‘WHO KILLED EL?’, to North America and Europe. As the tour arrives next month, it’s time to get reacquainted with the star. Or if you’re new, then let us introduce you as we dive into the world of Jang Yi Jeong.
WHO IS EL CAPITXN?
The king of reinvention, Jang Yi Jeong, may be best known today as the singer-songwriter, producer, and DJ. But before that, his journey started out as a singer, first appearing on Star Audition 2 and going on to being scouted and debuting in boy group HISTORY back in 2013 as the main vocalist.
When vocal issues unfortunately led him to stop singing, his story could have stopped there, but he sure did not. Resilient and persistent, he later went on to use his talents and continued creating. Under the pseudonym EL CAPITXN, he went on to produce some of the biggest songs in K-pop and later founded the production collective VENDORS. The group has since been behind some major releases for artists such as TXT (“Cat & Dog”), PSY (“That That”), and many more. In 2025, he released his autobiography, We Are Still In Our Interlude, and an insight into his journey, both personally and professionally, can be brought here.
HITMAKER AND PRODUCER
If you have a particularly favourite K-pop track, it’s more than likely been in the hands of EL CAPITXN. His credits span from the biggest names, including NCT, ZEROBASEONE, and IU, to name a few. He recently served as a judge on SBS’s Universe League and is now the main producer for AHOF, the group formed on the show. Since then, the group has gone on to win Best New Artist at the AAA awards, with the members looking to EL CAPITXN as both producer and mentor.
He, of course, has worked extensively with global superstars BTS, contributing to a significant number of their catalogues, including tracks like “Take Two” and “소우주 (Mikrokosmos)”. Known as AGUST D/SUGA’s right-hand man, he has earned critical acclaim for fan favourite anthems such as “대취타 (Daechwita)” and “Snooze”.
He even went on to appear on SUGA’s solo documentary ROAD TO D-DAY and on the YouTube chat show SUCHWITA, where he spoke honestly and openly about their relationship. Both emotional and compelling, he reflected at great length on their bond and more so on the encouragement to not give up and ultimately rediscover his passion for music.
If all the above wasn’t enough, he was also the sound engineer for the D-Day tour. Later, many of us watched him step up behind the decks as a DJ, fuelling the rise of now the iconic shibal mixes. A release we’re all still waiting patiently to be dropped, ahem.
THE WORLD TOUR – ‘WHO KILLED EL?’
Nothing short of inspirational, that narrative will be the core theme for his world tour. Navigating his own autobiographical journey that is nothing short of inspirational, one to never give up hope on yourself. The story will begin from losing his voice, a trial akin to ‘death’ for an artist, to returning to the stage once again. Through this tour, EL CAPITXN plans to present a cinematic experience that transcends a conventional performance, artistically transforming the process of loss and recovery through the motifs of death and resurrection.
Moving beyond a traditional DJ set, the tour is presented in a ‘hybrid format’ that fuses performance with live instrumentation, delivering a distinctive and heightened energy. By incorporating live sessions into the DJ approach he embraced to survive on stage after losing his voice, EL CAPITXN showcases both the precision of a producer and the dynamism of an artist.
As imagined, the artist is incredibly excited but has also sat in reflection and gratitude towards the upcoming tour: “Rather than a polished final product, this will be a stage showing the honest struggle and process of someone who has fallen but continues to move forward.” It is his mentality that has many fans dedicated to showing up and supporting his work. His confidence in engaging global audiences solely through the power of sound and narrative, breaking away from conventional performance formats.
Beginning in late March, the tour will expand to Europe, visiting major cities across six countries, including Amsterdam in the Netherlands, London in the UK, Munich in Germany, Prague in the Czech Republic, Paris in France, and Warsaw in Poland, and leaving a powerful impression on local music markets.
Having already proven his overwhelming presence on the global stage, EL CAPITXN’s 2026 World Tour is expected to mark a historic milestone, recording the most intensive period of his musical career.
As you can see, this one individual is incredibly talented and with an unwavering spirit, it’s about time the world was treated to the spectacle, spirits and energy of EL CAPITXN. Ticket info is available for Europe here and North America here. Who will we be seeing there?
