Rosalía, Doechii, Ricky Martin, Kacey Musgraves, Jennifer Lopez and many more hailed the Puerto Rican superstar’s performance as he became the first Latin male artist and act performing primarily in Spanish ever to take the prestigious headline slot.

In a set that was a celebration of a variety of Latin music styles, he performed with dozens of dancers, while moving through a complex sequence of staged setpieces, from swirling salsa ballrooms to perilous telephone pylons. Pedro Pascal, Cardi B, Jessica Alba and Karol G were all spotted among the dancers, while Bad Bunny appeared to deliver one of the three Grammys he won last week to a young boy.

Lady Gaga made a surprise appearance to deliver a Latin version of her Bruno Mars collaboration ‘Die With A Smile’, and she was joined by Bad Bunny’s backing band Los Pleneros de la Cresta. Ricky Martin, meanwhile, was on hand to introduce ‘El apagón’ with an excerpt of ‘LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii’.

Taking to her Instagram Story, Rosalía hailed the show and wrote: “Congratulations legend” while Doechii was blown away by the performance: “Bad Bunny WOW! Fucking, WOW. History”.

Colombian star Li Saumet of Bomba Estéreo, shared an emotional message via Instagram: “Seeing Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl, on one of the biggest stages in the world, singing from where we come from … it makes me think about how far we’ve come, about what seemed impossible just a few years ago.

“I am grateful to be part of this movement because together we are opening doors, breaking barriers, and celebrating who we are with pride, joy, representation, and the freedom to be ourselves without translation.”

Following the performance Ricky Martin also wrote: “I need several hours to process the tsunami of emotions I’m feeling,” alongside a picture of himself with Bad Bunny and Lady Gaga, both of whom performed alongside the Puerto Rican superstar.

Actor Ben Stiller meanwhile, hailed Bad Bunny’s show as “incredible”.
