March truly is becoming marked, booked, and firmly belonging to BTS. As the boys prepare to take over globally with their worldwide tour and the release of their new album ARIRANG, they are now set to dominate the streaming service world too.
NETFLIX has announced it will exclusively premiere BTS: THE RETURN, a documentary film directed by acclaimed director Bao Nguyen (The Greatest Night in Pop). The document gives a rare, behind-the-scenes look at the members making their fifth studio album, ARIRANG, out for release on 20th March. After a four-year hiatus, the documentary captures BTS reflecting on a career defined by a whirlwind of records, acclamations, and worldwide domination. They will also dive into what the future of BTS will look and sound like. Essentially beginning again and looking ahead with reflection, reinvention, and deep storytelling.
But that’s not all. The group will be officially performing together for the first time since their 2023 BUSAN Expo concert, a moment that now feels like a lifetime ago. Shortly after – like the next day – the group announced their military enlistment and the launch of chapter two with their solo albums.
ARIRANG will see various concepts, with one titled ‘Rooted in Korea’ hinting at perhaps a deeper culture exploration. Fittingly, BTS will return to the spotlight as they will be performing in Seoul’s historic Gwanghwamun Square. The concert will be streamed live on Netflix from Gwanghwamun, the main gate of the historic Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul. Having always been deeply proud of incorporating their culture into their work, it’s no surprise seeing them start their comeback in a beautifully cultural place and with a deeply symbolic album name. Of course this won’t be the first time the group have proudly showcased their heritage having performed 2018”s “Idol” in the grounds of Gyeongbokgung Palace as well as Mikrokosmos at the beautiful Gyeonghoeru Pavilion.
Their comeback live appearances come ahead of their record-breaking global ARIRANG World Tour (2026–2027), taking the group across 34 regions and 82 shows across Asia, North and Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, and beyond. Stay tuned for that coverage as we take to Europe in July for the shows!
Pre-save ARIRANG here on Spotify, and it is available for pre-orders on all good online retailers.
