Zayn Malik has seemingly taken a swipe at Harry Styles by making a comment about ticket prices at a recent live show.

The singer is currently nearing the end of a seven-night residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas, Nevada, where he has debuted some unreleased material – including the song ‘Die For Me’.
During last night’s show (Wednesday January 28), Malik appeared to subtly make a dig at his former One Direction bandmate Styles.
“Who’s from Vegas? Who’s from elsewhere?” he asked the crowd. “I just want to say a big, big thank you to each and every single one of you for being here with me tonight. You could’ve been anywhere, [but] you decided to spend your night with me.”
Malik then added a lighthearted remark on how much fans had spent to attend the show. “Hopefully the ticket prices weren’t too high – just saying!” he grinned, before shrugging. “Anyway!…”
Many fans have interpreted the comment as a nod to the conversations around the ticket prices for Styles’ upcoming shows at Wembley Stadium. Pre-sales for this summer’s shows went live earlier this week, ahead of the general sale tomorrow (Friday January 30).
Ticketmaster confirmed that tickets were priced by the organiser at between £44.10 to £466.25 (including fees), in addition to a per-order handling fee of £2.95. Ticket prices will not change during the pre-sale or on-sale, suggesting that Ticketmaster’s controversial ‘dynamic pricing’ function will not be used. Rear pitch standing tickets cost £144.65 each, while front section standing is priced at £198.95 per ticket. Pit standing tickets will set fans back £279.45 each.
Some customers weren’t impressed, calling the prices “absolutely insane”. Another person wrote: “£466 in this economy are you SERIOUS???!!!!”
In comparison, standard tickets for Malik’s Vegas shows cost between $92.98 (£67.30) and $223.39 (£162), per Ticketmaster. However, there are currently some ‘Premium’ tickets on the site for up to $479.81 (£347). The most expensive ‘Verified Resale’ ticket costs $609.28 (£441), at the time of writing.

Responding to Malik’s comment, one fan tweeted: “Oh the Harry shade .” Someone else said: “I’M DYING he’s so sassy i love it .” A third responded: “Savage .” However, some people seemed to defend Styles. An X/Twitter user posted: “He does his residency at Las Vegas. Ain’t no way you speak to me about prices.” Another shared: “OK, but Harry has the demand…. .”
Elsewhere, someone said Malik’s apparent swipe at Styles was hypocritical. “Lmfao… he can’t say that when his tickets were even more expensive???” they wrote, also sharing screenshots claiming that he was using ‘dynamic pricing’ and ‘Platinum Tickets’.
Malik is scheduled to play two final shows as part of his Vegas run tomorrow and Saturday (January 31).
Styles, meanwhile, has smashed the record for the most performances by any act in a single year at London’s Wembley Stadium – eclipsing Coldplay’s 10-night run last summer. He’ll play 12 concerts at the venue as part of his global ‘Together, Together’ tour.
The pop star will also break the record at Wembley for most concerts performed by a solo artist during a single tour, surpassing the eight nights set by Taylor Swift in 2024. “We are incredibly proud to welcome Harry Styles back to Wembley Stadium for what will be a truly historic run of shows. The 12 nights will be among the most special in our stadium’s long history,” said a spokesperson for the venue.
Styles will be joined the capital by special guest Shania Twain. He has pledged to donate £1 from every ticket sold to LIVE’s levy to protect UK grassroots music venues.
The singer is touring in support of his fourth solo album, ‘Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally’, which is out on March 6. Styles has already shared the first song from the record, ‘Aperture’, along with its official music video. The song features Wolf Alice frontwoman Ellie Rowsell on backing vocals.
NME gave the single a four-star review, describing it as “Styles as we’ve not heard him before”.
“‘Aperture’ is propelled by a lightly thumping beat that’s made more or less euphoric by the stabs of house piano that dip in and out, the jittery blasts of distorted fuzz, and the 31-year-old’s resonant delivery in the chorus: ‘We belong together’,” it added. “Add in a series of drawn-out, droning chords and it’s (likely) as close as we’re going to get to Styles fronting LCD Soundsystem.”
Styles himself has cited James Murphy and co. as an influence on the track. “I think the inspiration from them [was], ‘Oh, that’s how I want to feel when I’m on stage’. And then that kind of led to the kind of music I was making,” he explained.
In other news, Styles is due to perform live at the BRIT Awards 2026 ceremony next month, where he will debut new music from his forthcoming album.
Meanwhile, ex-1D member Louis Tomlinson shared his third solo album, ‘How Did I Get Here?’, last week. He recently spoke to NME about the project, finding his confidence, Styles’ new stuff, and more.
