Fallout season two sees Lucy (Ella Purnell) and The Ghoul (Walton Goggins) heading to New Vegas to track down Lucy’s devious father Hank (Kyle MacLachlan). As well as introducing Macaulay Culkin’s legion soldier Lacerta Legate, the second season also featured Fallout game legend Ron Perlman as a helpful super mutant.
A third season of Fallout has already been confirmed. Filming is hopefully taking place later this year with creators eager to release new episodes as quickly as possible. “I think what’s happened with television, in terms of taking longer and longer from season to season, is kind of an unfortunate trend,” executive producer Jonathon Nolan told IGN recently. According to the show’s Aaron Moten, the plan is for Fallout to run for as many as six seasons.
In a four-star review, NME wrote: “Less frenetic than, say, Twisted Metal – the other post-apoc game-to-show currently doing the rounds – Fallout season two is as ghoulish as you’d hope. By the time episode five comes around, it really hits its stride, with Lucy proving all this time above-ground has rubbed off on her. “I am nothing like you,” she tells The Ghoul. Don’t bet on it. Survival at all costs has a funny habit of morphing the brain chemistry of even the sweetest of souls.”
A mysterious countdown on a behind-the-scenes website for Fallout is set to end at the same time the season two finale airs, with many fans speculating that a remake of Fallout 3 or Fallout: New Vegas will be announced when it ends.
Last year, Fallout boss Todd Howard promised the team were hard at work on “that thing you want.”
In other news, the iconic Final Fantasy 9 soundtrack is being turned into a “deep house” remix album.
