New female duo, dodree (Na Yeong-joo and Lee Song-hyun), have released their first digital single “Just Like a Dream” under INNIT Entertainment, a JYP Entertainment subsidiary.
The group’s name, “dodree,” is a portmanteau of the Korean traditional music rhythm “dodri” and the word “free.” It embodies their ambition to transcend limitations and expand globally, freely unleashing their potential and moving forward.
dodree combines popular pop techniques with the members’ unique vocal style and Korean sounds, such as traditional Korean instruments, to create a new genre called K-rossover pop. By maintaining a unique Korean identity while blending diverse genres to create original music, they are poised to deliver a fresh and new K-pop sound to both Korean and international listeners.
dodree’s first digital single, “Just Like a Dream,” consists of two tracks: the title track ‘Just Like a Dream’ and the b-side ‘Born (本)’.
The title track, ‘Just Like a Dream,’ is a pop track that expresses the yearning for someone who has passed away like a dream. It compares a past love to a “dream,” deeply portraying the contrast between cold reality and warm memories.
