Taylor Swift allegedly called Justin Baldoni a “bitch”, according to court documents filed as part of the latter’s legal battle with Blake Lively.
People reported that lawyers representing Lively filed a letter to Judge Lewis J. Liman on January 20, which was their response to Baldoni’s legal team’s motion for summary judgment as the case moves toward trial in May.
As part of the filing, sections of alleged text messages between Swift and Lively are quoted, appearing to discuss Baldoni. Swift allegedly wrote: “I think this bitch knows something is coming because he’s gotten out his tiny violin,” in a message said to have been sent in December 2024.
Lively’s representation have not disputed that the “quoted language appears in the cited source,” however they say it “does not support Defendants’ assertion” that Lively and Swift “privately discussed the forthcoming New York Times article” that broke the news of the legal battle when it was published December 2024.
The document read: “Lively respectfully refers the Court to the cited source for its complete contents and disputes any summary or interpretation inconsistent therewith.” Taylor Swift is yet to publicly comment on the filing.
The legal battle between the former It Ends With Us co-stars began when Blake Lively sued Justin Baldoni in late 2024, accusing him of “inappropriate and unwelcome behaviour” and seeking to “destroy” her reputation.
He denied the claims and countersued Lively, husband Ryan Reynolds and publicist Leslie Sloane for $400million (£295million), with claims that Lively tried to extort him. However, this was dismissed in June 2025.
The dispute gained more headlines when Baldoni named Taylor Swift, a close friend of Lively’s, as a witness, alleging that the singer was present for discussions between Baldoni and Lively about a scene at the start of It Ends With Us.
In September last year, a judge denied a last-minute bid by Baldoni to depose Swift for the upcoming trial, with the U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman saying Baldoni and his co-defendants at Wayfarer Studios waited too long to seek her deposition.
Last November, Lively claimed that she has suffered $161million (£122.30million) in actual damages from the smear campaign around It Ends With Us.
