It comes as Brooklyn, who is the 26-year-old song of David and Victoria Beckham, shared a statement about his relationship with his parents after months of rumours of a falling out. In the post, he defended his wife Nicola Peltz and said that she had been “consistently disrespected” by his family.
He also accused his parents of “controlling” him and of “bribery”, adding that he has no intentions of reconciling with them any time soon.
“I have been silent for years and made every effort to keep these matters private. Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed,” he wrote. “I do not want to reconcile with my family. I’m not being controlled, I’m standing up for myself for the first time in my life.”
“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family,” he added. “The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.
“Recently, I have seen with my own eyes the lengths that they’ll go through to place countless lies in the media, mostly at the expense of innocent people, to preserve their own facade. But I believe the truth always comes out.”

He also added that he “grew up with overwhelming anxiety” and alleged that “for the first time in my life since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared. I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief.”
Neither Victoria nor David Beckham have publicly responded to the statement put forward by Brooklyn, but the comments from the photographer and aspiring chef have got fans talking online.
One person who made a nod towards the statement was pop star Lily Allen, who took to Instagram Stories to share a reimagined version of her ‘West End Girl’ album – depicting Brooklyn sat in the same way and in the same coat as she has on the original cover.
‘West End Girl’, released last year, was written and recorded following the breakdown of Allen’s marriage to Stranger Things actor David Harbour, after he allegedly cheated on her. In the tracks, she reopened old wounds from the relationship, told fans about her stance on what happened, and voiced how she was wanting to move on.

She has insisted that ‘West End Girl’ is “not a cruel album”, explaining she does not “need revenge” on her ex. More recently, she also said that making the LP had been “an act of desperation” – similar to the stance which Brooklyn took in his recent online statement.
The song ‘Pussy Palace’ landed at Number 21 on NME‘s 50 best songs of 2025 list, and ‘West End Girl’ was placed at Number 13 in our 50 best albums of the year feature.
Allen has teased that the record could be turned into a play, saying: “I’m definitely having some conversations with people about it.”
The singer and actor has also reflected on returning to the UK as a single mum after her whirlwind year, with live performances coming up including headlining London’s Mighty Hoopla.
