Ashton Kutcher refutes “craziest” rumour that he and wife Mila Kunis don’t shower

Ashton Kutcher has addressed online rumours that he and partner Mila Kunis do not shower, following comments made on a 2021 podcast.

The couple, who starred together on That ‘70s Show before becoming a couple in the 2010s, made comments on a 2021 episode of the Armchair Expert podcast that he will “throw some water on my face” after working out, but doesn’t wash extensively. “I wash my armpits and my crotch daily, and nothing else ever,” he said, jokingly. “I got a bar of Lever 2000 that delivers every time. Nothing else.”

The appearance, as well as the couple’s comments on how often they bathe their children, led some to believe they do not wash regularly. This resulted in Kutcher being heckled on a sports show appearance in 2021, with the crowd chanting “take a shower” over and over. While promoting his new show The Beauty, the actor addressed the rumours, asserting that his comments had been misinterpreted.

“It was the craziest thing of all time,” Kutcher told People. “We made a comment at one point, and people were like, ‘Does he stink? Does he smell?’ There was a comment on a podcast, so long ago… and people are like, ‘They don’t shower.’ I’m like, ‘I shower, I go to the gym, I shower.’” Co-star Anthony Ramos added: “I can confirm my boy showers.”

Kutcher is also known for starring in the sitcom Two And A Half Men, as well as the 2000s reality show Punk’d, and movies such as What Happens In Vegas and the 2012 Steve Jobs biopic, titled Jobs. He has been married to Kunis, star of films such as Black Swan and Bad Moms, since 2015. The couple have two children.

In 2024, Kutcher, who is also a tech entrepreneur, received backlash for promoting the potential of AI to make movies and television shows.
