GTA 6 is easily one of the most anticipated games to ever be released and the online portion is expected to completely revolutionize things once again. GTA online has seen countless updates over the last 12 years and we are now at a point where it is hard to figure out what GTA Online might look like.

But that doesn’t stop us from speculating. Here are some brief ideas on what GTA 6 online could bring to the table. Keep in mind that nothing has been confirmed by Rockstar as of yet.
You can bring your characters with you
Players have invested hundreds if not thousands of hours in GTA 5, and therefore we expect you will be able to bring your characters with you. Although, you likely won’t be able to bring all of your money, cars, and weapons, providing you with a soft fresh start.
However, legacy players will almost certainly get some kind of bonus, or exclusive items in GTA 6 online.
Players will be able to make their own ‘TikTok’ style videos
GTA always parodies or includes copies of the biggest technology upgrades and social media platforms and it would be incredibly surprising if GTA 6 doesn’t have some version of TikTok. We think we have already been teased it during the initial reveal trailer for the game and in GTA Online, there is no better way to create content than have the players do the work for you.
With a TikTok style app that uses an algorithm to learn what players like, you can effectively have a infinite pool of clips, events, gameplay showcases, guide videos, and player-led podcasts and shows that are created entirely within the game. This would also be a huge boost to the roleplaying community.
Expect a less realistic foundation
As GTA online has evolved, it has thrived off of crazy creations, races, and events made by the community. As such, a lot of the classic events aren’t played anymore. Therefore, we expect GTA 6 to focus on player creations and maps, with a suite of tools to create those races and events.
GTA 6 is set to release on PS5 and Xbox Series consoles on November 19, 2026.
