The Oscar-winning star of The Hunger Games and Silver Linings Playbook recently starred in Die My Love, a psychological drama directed by Lynne Ramsay in which she plays a young mother grappling with postpartum depression as her marriage to Robert Pattinson’s character unravels.

The film, which also stars Nick Nolte, Sissy Spacek and LaKeith Stanfield and is co-produced by Martin Scorsese, has been celebrated by critics, while Lawrence has been nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance.

As she recently revealed to People, the fact that she did not previously know Twilight star Pattinson made the experience of filming the intimate scenes “easier” than they would otherwise have been.

“Because Rob and I did not know each other, which is kind of better, you know?” she explained. “Like in Hunger Games, like me and Josh Hutcherson would have to kiss and that’s like…imagine it. You know, it’s weirder and so yeah, doing it with a stranger is preferable.”

She also revealed that Ramsay made her and Pattinson take interpretive dance lessons before filming a scene in which they are both naked and attack each other like “sex tigers”.

“We got to Calgary like three weeks before we started shooting. Rob and I both [are] embarrassed very easily, and that was mortifying,” she said about the dance classes. “It was, I mean, I’m not a dancer, Rob’s [the] worst dancer. And it was like, now blow like a tree – like it was just so embarrassing. So I think by the time she was like, ‘Yeah, get naked’, we were just kind of like, ‘OK, at least it’s not interpretive dance.”

NME awarded Die My Love four stars, writing: “Lawrence already has a career full of great performances (Winter’s Bone, American Hustle and her Oscar-winning turn in Silver Linings Playbook), but this might be her finest work to date. She sings, shouts, prowls like a panther through fields and is never less than completely committed.”

Elsewhere, Lawrence is set to return to The Hunger Games with Hutcherson for the upcoming prequel, Sunrise On The Reaping, which is scheduled to be released in November.

She is also working on a Miss Piggy film alongside Emma Stone, and has been announced for Martin Scorsese’s next film What Happens At Night.
