The 40th Golden Disc Awards celebrated K-pop’s biggest achievements of the past year at Taiwan’s Taipei Dome on January 10, with BLACKPINK’s Jennie emerging as the night’s biggest winner.
Hosted by singer Sung Si Kyung and actress Moon Ga Young, the ceremony marked the seventh time the prestigious awards show has been held overseas. Tickets sold out immediately upon release, demonstrating the event’s massive popularity.
The ceremony introduced a new Artist of the Year category for 2026, with Jennie taking home the inaugural trophy. She also won three additional awards, making her a four-time winner for the evening. Accepting her Artist of the Year award, Jennie expressed gratitude and reflected on BLACKPINK’s upcoming 10th anniversary, saying she felt closer to her dreams thanks to the journey so far.
Stray Kids claimed the Album of the Year Daesang for “KARMA,” while G-Dragon won Song of the Year for “HOME SWEET HOME” featuring Taeyang and Daesung.
