Set to launch next year, Resident Evil Requiem has been described as a “new era of survival horror”. The single-player adventure will see players take control of new protagonist Grace Ashcroft as they return to Racoon City, 30 years after the events of Resident Evil 2. “While survival horror takes centerstage, Resident Evil Requiem will feature high-stakes cinematic action that will take the series in a bold new direction,” said developers Capcom.
Since the game was first unveiled, fans have speculated that Grace Ashcroft will be joined by a battle-hardened zombie killer, with fan-favourite Leon (first introduced in Resident Evil 2) top of the rumour pile.
Last week, it was finally confirmed that Leon will be a playable character in Resident Evil Requiem, with players splitting their time between him and Grace. “Experience terrifying survival horror with FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft, and dive into pulse-pounding action with legendary agent Leon S. Kennedy,” said Capcom in a press release. “Both of their journeys and unique gameplay styles intertwine into a heart-stopping, emotional experience that will chill you to your core.”
However, a second announcement revealed that Leon will be part of a collaboration with Porsche, which has confused some fans. “Resident Evil and Porsche, the world-renowned vehicle manufacturer that has captivated car enthusiasts worldwide for decades, are teaming up for the ride of a lifetime. Together, the two iconic brands will debut a unique Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT in-game as Leon’s trusted ride, providing a legendary ride for a legendary character,” explains a press release.

“Weird tasteless dystopian garbage. I hate 2025,” one fan said of the crossover. “This shit is mad funny to say out loud,” added another. “This is bizarre. It seems like a ‘fellow kids’ moment for Porsche,” wrote a third.
“This is still throwing me off cause they could have picked any character and they picked the one character that has a record of crashing cars,” explained another fan.
Resident Evil Requiem is due to launch March 27, 2026.
In other news, the team behind Hollow Knight: Silksong has confirmed a big expansion is coming to the hit game – and it won’t cost you a penny.
