Raptology: What originally made you want to become an illustrator/graphic designer?
JR: It was just a hobby drawing was just something I always did.
Raptology: How did you become an illustrator/graphic designer?
JR: Lol I’ve always done since I could pick up a pencil.
Raptology: How would you describe your approach to design?
JR: I don’t have a specific approach I just go and do whatever’s on my mind tbh.
Raptology: Describe your creative process. What are the major steps?
JR: I’m sorry to keep the answers short, but only things is to get rest and be motivated and focus cuz sitting for hours can be daunting.
Raptology: Who or what has been the biggest single influence on your way of thinking?
JR: Charlemagne the God, Snoop Dogg and my dad Tyler Perry. They are all gogetters and never stop till they get what they want.
Raptology: What would you say is your strongest skill and how have you honed that skill over the years?
JR: My strongest skill is my ideas I pride myself on how I execute ideas that I have, being able to make things consistently that people like is not an easy thing to do so that’s what I say is my strongest skill ideas and studying what people like to see.
Raptology: What has been your best project and why?
JR: Everybody still talks to me about that feel like summer video, mines is when I did work for google.
Raptology: Who is your biggest client?
JR: Google arts and childish Gambino, Trey Songz, jhené Aiko, Charlemagne the God, BET? that’s another story and someone from Philly but it never came out I can’t say the name cuz I’m under idk if the contracted expired yet, but you can guess who it is??
Raptology: How do you stay creative under pressure?
JR: I think about getting my back rubbed by fat girls.
Raptology: What are you passionate about besides your work?
JR: Passionate about trying to maintain this situationship. I’m in right now? don’t ask.
Raptology: Do you have any superstitious beliefs or rules that you live by?
JR: Nah
Raptology: What’s the best piece of advice you have heard and repeat to others?
JR: Just did it
