Ahead of the release of his upcoming Lonely At The Top, Joey Bada$$ premiers the album’s latest offering, “Dark Aura” with its video.
Directed by Waqas Ghani, the plush visual centers Joey in a lavish mansion, gritty landmarks and a nightclub where he vents on independence and success.
“Lifestyles of the rich and famous / Custom fitted shoes, tailored waistband, tuck the stainless,” he raps over Chuck Strangers’ sleek production. “Gotta move swift and dangerous, they gon’ have to lift them wages / You ain’t talkin’ money, you must be talkin’ a different language / Independent mindset, we ain’t fuckin’ with the majors / Can’t get back our time spent, gotta treat it like it’s sacred.”
“Dark Aura” arrives on the heels of his recent rant on his current label Columbia Records. Lonely At Top, which also includes “ABK“, “Passports & Suitcases“, and more, finally drops August 29.
