Rakuten Viki’s latest, highly anticipated drama The First Night With the Duke premieres on June 11th, and it’s already gaining traction thanks to K-pop stars Seohyun of Girls’ Generation and Ok Taecyeon of 2PM, who make the leap from stage to screen, bringing their massive global fanbases along for the ride.
Inspired by the webcomic of the same name, which has garnered more than 113 million global views, The First Night with the Duke follows an ordinary college student who suddenly finds herself inhabiting the body of Cha Sun Chaek (Seohyun), a minor character in her favorite romance novel. Her unexpected one-night encounter with the novel’s male lead, Prince Yi Beon (Ok Taecyeon), causes the story to deviate from its original course, leading to unforeseen consequences.
