New York produces another rapper with the potential to enter into the ranks of hip hop greatness.
Born and raised in the streets of Harlem, Drill Rapper Swifty Paid better known by his stage name Swifty, had to overcome the rough elements of his environment in his pursuit to make it out into a better life. Since a kid growing up, his character was built on respect, and Swifty was ready and willing to go to any lengths in order to preserve that code that governed his life. This resulted in numerous altercations with persons intent on pushing him around, but at the end of it all, Swifty remained true to who he was and stood tall on principle.
Through his upbringing, Swifty often looked up to drill rappers like the late Pop Smoke, Sleepy Hallow, Sheff G, and Bizzy Banks. That admiration eventually led to him picking up the mic in 2021 when his brothers saw his talent and encouraged him to take a career in the rap industry seriously. Swifty took that advice to heart, putting in work freestyling while his mother went to work and practicing his craft. In time, he found his voice and released his debut track, “Gotham City.” His catchy drill sound slid over the beat and the visuals for his first official release went crazy. In just two weeks, streaming numbers hit an impressive 40K milestone and has been climbing ever since.
Swifty is still riding on the high of the positive feedback off his first track, but is steadily working on more music to give to fans. He promises more heat over drill beats along with more songs that show his versatility outside of the genre. Follow Harlem’s rising rapper, Swifty and check out his debut track, “Gotham City.”
