‘SNL’ star Chloe Fineman says she has “no regrets” alleging that Elon Musk made her cry

Saturday Night Live comic Chloe Fineman has said she has “no regrets” about calling out Elon Musk for allegedly making her cry during his time on the show.

Last year, Fineman said on TikTok that the Tesla and X/Twitter boss upset her when he hosted the comedy sketch series in 2021.

According to Fineman, she worked through the night on her sketch during the week Musk was hosting the show. When she presented her sketch to him, he allegedly critiqued her writing and told her he wasn’t the least bit amused, which made her cry.

In response, Musk said: “Frankly, it was only on the Thursday before the Saturday that ANY of the sketches generated laughs. I was worried. I was like damn my SNL appearance is going to be so fucking unfunny that it will make a crackhead sober. But then it worked out in the end.”

Now, Fineman has revisited the incident following the backlash Musk received for seemingly giving a Nazi-like gesture during a speech at President Donald Trump‘s inauguration in Washington DC on Monday (January 20).

“Remember when I got in trouble for calling out Mr. Nazi Salute?” the comedian shared in a Tuesday (January 21) Instagram Story. “Ya no regrets.”

Musk was widely criticised for the gesture. My Chemical Romance’s Frank Iero was one of the names calling him out, writing on Instagram: “Fuck this guy and every single person supporting this shit or wasting any kind of breath attempting to defend it,” he wrote in the caption, before adding: “Your true colours are shining through. #SmashHate.”

Grimes – the musician who was previously in a relationship with Musk and shares multiple children with him – distanced herself from him online.

“I am not him. I will not make a statement every time he does something. I can only send love back into a world that is hurting,” she wrote on X. “I’m happy to denounce Nazi-ism – and the far alt right. Would that help clear things up?”

Although Musk has yet to formally denounce Nazism, he did take to X to agree with a tweet that read: “Can we please retire the calling people a Nazi thing? It didn’t work during the election, it’s not working now, it’s tired, boring, and old material, you’ve burned out its effect, people don’t feel shocked by it anymore, the wolf has been cried too many times.” He responded: “Yeah exactly .”

In a separate post on X, he wrote: “Frankly, they need better dirty tricks. The ‘everyone is Hitler’ attack is sooo tired”.
