The woman behind a viral DUA video has spoken about being compared to 2024 sensation Haliey Welch, AKA The Hawk Tuah Girl.

Sophia Ross, a 22-year-old waitress from Florida, made headlines when she was filmed being pulled over with an alleged .318 blood alcohol level by police. Bodycam footage showed her attempting to flirt with the officer, calling him “Daddy” and offering to “make out” with him. The video has since circulated on social media.
Reflecting on going viral to TMZ, Ross said: “I’ve gotten so many comments saying ‘2025 Hawk Tuah Girl’, and ‘Hawk Tuah walked so she could run’, and honestly she’s a legend. I 100 per cent look up to her, and it’s because you can see that authenticity in a person.
“The people that are real can see through the shallow people, they can see through the people who are just putting on a face, putting on a front, putting on an act, instead of letting those raw personalities shine through and be themselves. That’s what I admire about her”.
Regarding the incident itself, she said: “My friends will tell you that’s me when I’m sober. Like, that’s just my personality, I can’t take anything seriously. Some may view that as a fault, but I think life’s too short to take anything too seriously”.

She did, however, acknowledge the severity of the case. “Drinking and driving is not OK, but I survived, and I wanna be able to tell people, like, give a testimony: don’t be me”.
Hailey Welch, known as The Hawk Tuah Girl, went viral last year for being interviewed in the street while on a night out, and giving a graphic description of a sexual act. She has been the subject of many memes and been on stage with country star Zach Bryan.
She has since launched her own merchandise, crypto currency, created her own podcast, Talk Tuah, with guests including Jojo Siwa.
