The project will mark the fourth studio album from the artist, and her first since boygenius shared their critically acclaimed album,‘The Record’, last year.
Following on from Dacus’ last album ‘Home Video’, the upcoming release sees the musician shift away from the world of adolescence and take on a decidedly adult feel, enriched by themes of sexuality and romance.
Set for release on March 28 via Polydor, the cover is a painting of Dacus by acclaimed visual artist Will St. John, and contributions to the tracklist come from Hozier, Blake Mills, Bartees Strange, Madison Cunningham, Collin Pastore, Jake Finch and Melina Duterte. Boygenius bandmates Phoebe Bridgers and Julien Baker also make an appearance.

The first of the new singles to be shared is ‘Ankles’ – a playful track that best showcases the empowering motif of the album.
While it initially began as a ballad, the final product instead has a thick texture of drums, guitars, a dancingly exuberant bass line, and electronics. It also captures the same flirtatious, playful and sometimes frustrating feeling of mutual attraction.
“So bite me on the shoulder, pull my hair,” Dacus sings. “Pull me by the ankles to the edge of the bed, and take me like you do in your dreams.” Check it out below, alongside a music video that stars Havana Rose Liu.
The second track to be shared is the softer, more angelic single ‘Limerence’. This also captures the same powerful feeling of emotion that Dacus hones in on throughout the album.
“I got kicked in the head with emotions. Falling in love, falling out of love,” Dacus explained, sharing the realisation she had when working on the LP. “You have to destroy things in order to create things. And I did destroy a really beautiful life.”
“You can’t actually capture forever,” she continued. “But I think we feel forever in moments. I don’t know how much time I’ve spent in forever, but I know I’ve visited.”
As well as announcing a new album, Dacus has also shared details of new US tour dates, which will see her hit the road with support coming from MUNA’s Katie Gavin and jasmine.4.t.
The shows follow on from her previously-announced ‘An Evening With’ dates in February, and kick off with an opening night at The Met in Philadelphia on April 16. Shows in Washington DC, Boston, New York, Toronto and Nashville are planned for the remainder of the month, before the tour picks up again in May.
Seven shows are scheduled for that month, including dates in Chicago, Kansas City, Dallas, Austin and Denver. The tour wraps up with a final night at The Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on May 14.
Dacus has partnered with PLUS1 so that $1 per ticket goes towards supporting those impacted by the devastating LA wildfires. The presale kicks off on January 21, before the general on-sale commences on January 24.

Last month, Dacus posted a casting call for the music video of her upcoming new single ‘Best Guess’.
As for Boygenius, ‘The Record’ earned the group three Grammys, was crowned NME‘s best album of 2023 and led to the trio picking up the International Group Of The Year prize at the BRIT Awards 2024.
The trio announced their hiatus at a secret LA show early last year. “We’re going away for the foreseeable future,” fans quoted them as saying. “This is our last show, and we’re feeling it.”
Dacus later reflected on Boygenius’ hugely successful past 12 months, writing: “It is not lost on me what a rare experience I’m getting to live.”
