In a music industry saturated with manufactured personas and recycled narratives, DeVohn Infinite stands apart. The 26-year-old Wilmington native isn’t chasing trends or trying to fit into predefined boxes. His upcoming album “Then There’s Me” serves as both a statement and an invitation – a chance to see the world through the eyes of someone who’s chosen to walk his own path.
“Steez Infinite,” he explains, breaking down his artist name. “Steez meaning style, swag, and Infinite is my actual middle name. Together it means my style forever, because that’s what I give in my music. Me.”
It’s this authenticity that’s caught the attention of industry heavyweights. Charlie Mack, a Philadelphia entertainment legend known for his decades of influence in the music industry, has recognized DeVohn’s potential. The young artist has also earned the ear of respected producer NessOnTheBeat, known for crafting distinctive sounds in hip-hop, trap, and R&B.
But DeVohn’s story isn’t just about music – it’s about responsibility, family, and choosing the right path even when it’s the harder one. When his grandmother passed away, he faced a pivotal moment: continue pursuing his dreams or step up for his family. He chose both, though not without sacrifice. As the only man in his household, he put his music career on temporary hold to care for his other grandmother, all while maintaining the delicate balance of his own aspirations and family obligations.
“I live for the next day, not yesterday,” DeVohn shares, revealing the forward-thinking mindset that’s helped him navigate life’s challenges. “I’m always trying to figure out how to be the best in whatever I do.”
His journey into music began organically, through rap battles on SoundCloud with friends. What started as playful competition evolved into something more profound as DeVohn discovered his voice and started channeling his experiences into his art.
Now, he’s preparing to release “Then There’s Me,” a 10-track album that promises to be both a mirror and a window – reflecting current realities while offering a different perspective. The album tackles heavy themes – drugs, money, sex, violence – but through the lens of someone who’s consciously chosen to stay in his own lane.
“The concept of the album is everything going on in the world… but then there’s me. Someone who isn’t apart of any of that and in my own lane doing my own thing,” DeVohn explains. The project includes a feature from close collaborator HeroSys, adding another layer to its narrative.
Looking ahead, DeVohn’s ambitions are clear. He sees himself signing with either pgLang or Dreamville in the coming years – labels known for prioritizing artistic integrity and meaningful storytelling. But more than industry success, he’s focused on affecting lives positively through his music.
In a genre often criticized for promoting destructive narratives, DeVohn Infinite offers something different: authenticity without glorification, storytelling without sensationalism. His message is simple but powerful – you don’t have to follow the crowd to make an impact.
“I have only one story to tell, and that’s my story,” he says. It’s a reminder that sometimes the most universal messages come from the most personal places. In a world of artificial personas and calculated images, DeVohn Infinite is betting that being genuinely yourself is still the most revolutionary act of all.
