Glaser served as the host of this year’s Golden Globes award ceremony on January 5. While introducing legendary actress Glenn Close – who was set to present the award for Best Motion Picture – Drama – the host and comedian listed a few of Close’s accolades and snuck in a mention of the Armenian-American heavy metal band.

“To present our next award please welcome, from Netflix’s Back In Action, three-time Golden Globe Award winner, Hollywood icon and former drummer for System Of A Down, Glenn Close,” Glaser said.

Now, Dolmayan has joined in on the joke and took to his official Instagram account to share a photo of System Of A Down with the 101 Dalmations actress’ photoshopped on his. “I guess the cats out of the bag thanks to that a@#h*+£ @nikkiglaser,” began the caption of his post.

He continued: “The fact is @glennclose wrote the drums for most of the second system album and had to come in to lock down decent takes of a few songs as I just couldn’t handle the difficulty and we were running out of time. Thanks to @daronmalakian @serjtankian @shavoodadjian and @teamcoco for keeping the secret for so long. (a little known fact is that Conan [O’Brien] co-produced all our albums) I feel better that the truth is out there.”

Dolmayan is not the only System Of A Down band member who has responded to Glaser’s joke. Guitarist and vocalist Daron Malakian previously took to his Instagram to share a clip of the joke being made and wrote: “Bet you didn’t know!!!! Bet you didn’t know!!!!! Somewhere between our first drummer and John, Glenn Close was tearing shit up on the drums for us!”

In other news, System Of A Down recently shared details of a South American tour slated to take place in the spring.

The new dates arrived shortly after the band’s announcement of their three one-off shows planned for the summer – a show in New Jersey with KoRn, a date in Chicago with Avenged Sevenfold and a stop in Toronto with Deftones.
