Netflix has unveiled new details about its first original medical K-drama series, The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call, including its plot, premiere date, cast and trailers. Read on for everything you need to know about the new series, starring Ju Ji-hoon.

What is the plot of The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call?
Dr. Baek Kang-hyuk, a genius surgeon with years of medical and surgical experiences in war zones, joins a university hospital infamous for its struggling trauma team.
The series follows Dr. Baek, determined to revolutionise the state of South Korea’s trauma care, as he introduces unorthodox methods to the existing team with unwavering confidence, which eventually will lead them to become a top-tier trauma unit.
Who will star in the new Netflix series?
Ju Ji-hoon, known for his previous roles in Kingdom and Along With The Gods, plays Dr. Baek, while The Tale of Lady Ok’s Cho Young-woo stars alongside him as a fellow who becomes Baek’s first disciple. The Crowned Clown’s Yoon Kyung-ho is set to play a proctologist and professor at the hospital.
Doona!’s Ha Young will play a nurse named Cheon Jang-mi, with Jung Jae-kwang of It’s Okay Not To Be Okay fame portraying a resident with a resolve to take on particularly difficult surgeries in the anaesthesiology department before he takes his specialist exam.
Is there a trailer for The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call?
On January 7, Netflix unveiled the first teaser for the series. The clip opens with a dramatic montage of various disaster sites, as a disembodied voice asks, “Is there anyone in Korea who can be considered a trauma specialist?” The teaser then cuts to Dr. Baek on his first day at his new hospital, as he interrupts a team of panicking surgeons in the middle of a procedure with a scalpel and syringe.
In a conference for the hospital, Dr. Baek boldly announces his agenda to get rid of the existing Trauma Team and reopen it as a Trauma Centre. The remainder of the teaser sees Dr. Baek in various extreme settings, as he works with the team to establish the Trauma Centre amid disaster.
How do I watch The Trauma Code: Heroes On Call?
The new series will make its international premiere exclusively on Netflix on January 24.
