Millionaire DJ Mikaela Jav has been arrested at a party in Greece after being accused of drug trafficking.
The London-based DJ – real name Izzat Khanim Javadova and the cousin of Azerbaijan’s president – was arrested on December 30 in the town of Kalyvia Thorikou, which is located near Athens. As reported by Mixmag, Javadova was arrested at a party in a luxury villa in which Police had allegedly discovered 45 packages of cocaine, ecstasy, crystal meth and other drugs along with a safe which contained over €43,000 (£35,000).
Javadova was one of nine people who appeared before a magistrate on January 3 and has been detained on charges of aggravated drug trafficking. It has been reported that 13 individuals were arrested in total, with three of them being police officers who were accused of illegally providing security and surveillance services.

This is not the first time the DJ finds herself in legal trouble. Back in 2021, as reported by The Times, the DJ and her husband Suleyman Javadov surrendered £4million to the British authorities due to the money allegedly being brought in by a £2.1billion money-laundering scheme titled the “Azerbaijani laundromat”.
Speaking to the Greek broadcaster ERT, Javadova has denied the claims and said: “I did not organise the party and I did not send online invitations … also, they did not find drugs on me.”
She went on to describe the event as “a tekno Berlin kinky party dedicated to love and music”, and said that the accusations against her were “an attack on LGBTQ people” (as per The Times).
The owner of the luxury villa in which the party was being held at claimed that the DJ had paid the €1,000 (£830) security deposit for the villa, and claimed that place had suffered significant damage.
Javadova’s cousin is Azerbaijan’s autocratic leader, President Ilham Aliyev. Her late father was the Azerbaijani MP Jalal Aliyev who was the brother of the former President of Azerbaijan, Heydar Aliyev.
It has been reported that the DJ owns various extravagant properties across Azerbaijan, Ibiza and London. In 2015, Javadova founded the dance music label Underground Records and held a residency at Space Ibiza alongside her techno party ONYX
