Kpopalypse’s stats, metrics and general nerdy bean-counting 2024 year in review post

Many k-pop websites and fans alike care very much about likes, clicks, engagement and as such shady k-pop websites always guard their site data carefully so they can sell it to advertisers or use it to make sneaky marketing decisions. Not Kpopalypse, who carries no advertising and doesn’t give a fuck about anything apart from being a caonima, and happily shares all site data each year for your entertainment! It’s that time again, so let’s take a look at all the site statistics that are relevant to kpopalypse.com and be very nerdy!

Let’s start off with a look at our yearly visit count!

As usual, traffic to Kpopalypse.com has decreased slightly, however keep in mind that this snapshot is slightly deceptive as a great deal of the yearly traffic happens in late December with the lead-up to the wildly popular favourites lists and worst songs lists. However there’s no denying that the appeal of the site is becoming more selective. I suspect that the main reason for this is that I post a hell of a lot less about boobs than I used to, also switching from Twitter to Bluesky may have also dented the numbers slightly… no, I’m kidding, it’s actually just the boobs.

What countries are visiting kpopalypse.com the most? Here’s the viewcounts by country of origin:

While many countries decreased their viewership, there were some countries where Kpopalypse.com became much more popular – New Zealand was the country where interest in the site increased the most in 2024, but the site actually also gained popularity in South Korea this year… the k-pop scene finally noticing, or perhaps just “external forces” checking in?

Here’s the countries that only managed to visit one time this year:

I guess people living in these flop countries just check Kpopalypse once per year for the year-end lists… oh, who am I kidding, we all know it’s the boobs posts. Anyway if you live in one of these nugu places please reflect and try to visit more – even Palestine managed to check out Kpopalypse.com ten times this year, that’s a pretty good effort from them given what’s going on over there.

What sites brought the most traffic to Kpopalypse.com?

Well, mainly myself, as usual, although there were some interesting new places. Soccersuck.com is actually a Thai sports website – Thailand were another country who slightly increased their visitations this year. The amusingly titled fark.com seems to be a Reddit clone of some kind. Even asianjunkie.com managed to finally pull their finger out and send me one solitary link this year, which I’m grateful for but the thought that this pretend-sportball k-pop site isn’t performing as well at sending me links as an actual sportball site is a bit sad, really. I’d also like to send a shout-out to the three people who clicked on my site from allaboutromance.com – I don’t know what context the link contained that brought you here I hope you found the romantic content that you were looking for.

What about links from Kpopalypse.com – where do I send people the most?

Lots of places, as usual! As usual I give the online k-pop community a hell of a lot more than I get in return, but that’s okay, Kpopalypse is all about expanding your online knowledge and that includes visiting several places, especially Shindong’s place, as you can see by the PornHub numbers!

So, as we can see from the data, most people come to Kpopalypse.com not through links from other websites, but because they are specifically searching for caonima content. What search terms brought the most people to Kpopalypse.com this year? Here’s a lost of all the terms people searched to find this site more than once (plus a few bonus ones) and how often they were used.

Note this isn’t a complete list because my site doesn’t capture the search data from every type of search engine, only certain ones (and I don’t think Google is one of them). Say a prayer for all the people who searched up “SONE 080” this year because they were looking for the JAV titled “The beautiful female college student at my part-time job was serious but loved sex to death” and ended up at my “080-SONE-AWAY – Sone Away Services” fanfic instead.

So what were the most popular posts on the site this year? Before you take a look, see if you can guess! Okay, you can probably guess, so let’s just take a look…

Gosh, there seems to be a pattern forming here, but I just can’t quite place it. Although a few of the more popular roundups did get in to the top spots, as well as last year’s best and worst songs. It looks like a few of you might actually care about some of the music writing here after all…

What are the most popular posts by post tag?

Roundup remains enduringly popular, but not as popular as the real reason why most people visit! Notice how the Nugu Alert tag once again doesn’t even have enough interest to make the list, and is even outperformed by the “fashion” tag even though there were NO fashion class posts in the whole of 2024!

Now for some other all-new stats that have never been in these posts before!

Here’s viewership by device, so you can see how people view Kpopalypse content! Looks like the majority of you do have phones!

Here’s viewership by browser type. Chrome really does dominate at the moment, which is a bit of a worry for privacy, but at least Kpopalypse has no ads to serve you once Chrome disables all adblockers like they’re planning to do soon.

Here’s views by operating system type! As you can see, more Kpopalypse readers have iPhones! This must mean you’re all very rich!

Speaking of being rich like a bestselling author, people often ask me how the Kpopalypse books are selling – so here’s sales to date, across all vendors!

Only 69 people have acquired all four books in the Shin Hana story! Actually I think that’s a good number of people to have read all of it from start to finish, the rest of you can stop reading now if you like! I also promised that I’d learn how to identify all the TripleS members when Love Carousel got to 100 sales so I’m really glad that I don’t have to do that just yet because that would be hard. Yes I do like book sales but I like my sanity a lot more.

To finish off, here’s the top ten “blind YouTube clicks” for 2024 – you clicked these links from my site to YouTube videos despite probably not knowing where exactly I was taking you, I admire your bravery and determination to follow these links!
