As reported by IGN, the two companies finalised the deal with Games Workshop releasing a statement. It read: “It’s official – Games Workshop and Amazon Studios have finalised their deal – the creative guidelines are nailed down, and we’re all set to bring Warhammer to the screen.”

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a while to actually see anything come from this deal. Games Workshop wrote: “So, what’s next? When will the first project hit screens? It’ll be some years. Project One is about to go into development proper. So, next up is the script/s that will form the basis of everything else to come.”

Henry Cavill is set to star in whatever show ends up being made, and said it is the “greatest privilege” of his career. The Superman and Witcher actor is a known fan of the table-top strategy game, as well as the video games. He said of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2: “This game is the mutt’s….. Seriously, though, they’ve done pretty well eh?”

Cavill is expecting his first-born child with Natalie Viscuso, a former vice president of television and digital studios at Legendary Entertainment.

The actor said that when his baby arrives he’ll be getting it building Warhammer figures. “Pillows won’t be in the crib when the wee one arrives, just glue and scalpels so he or she can build Warhammer miniatures,” he added.

The Warhammer table-top game involves figurines that need to be painted by players before they’re used for battles.

In other news, Palworld has changed one of its game mechanics that beared a resemblance to a core Pokemon feature.
