Pokémon TV originally launched in 2021 and allowed fans to watch classic episodes of the anime as well as series specials and replays of top competitive championships via the Nintendo Switch. While it never hosted the entire library of Pokémon episodes, it did regularly rotate its offering.
However, earlier this year The Pokémon Company confirmed it would be shutting down the app and listed the eight different streaming services that various seasons of the anime were available on. Over the weekend though, Pokémon TV was revived on YouTube.
“Welcome to the official Pokémon TV YouTube channel, where you can explore the world of Pokémon with Ash & Pikachu! Experience some of the most iconic moments from their adventure with our full episodes, live streams, compilations, and so much more,” reads the channel description.
Over the past two days, the first 20 episodes of the very first season of the anime have been uploaded to YouTube, with fans able to watch Ash and Pikachu’s first adventures together for free. The Official Pokémon YouTube Channel has been sharing various clips and compilations from the cartoon over the years, but this is the first time fans can watch whole episodes on YouTube.
“I can’t describe how happy the Pokémon TV YouTube channel is making me… SO many episodes, this fast?! And they’re all the highest quality with no watermarks or anything?! Christmas has come early,” wrote one fan. “All aboard the nostalgia train,” said another.

In August, it was confirmed a new ad-supported streaming service would be launching in Canada, United States, United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand to broadcast the first 22 seasons of the anime. Fans in the UK can currently watch the “curated selection” of episodes via Pluto TV.
In other news, one Pokémon TCG Pocket player has already caught ‘em all, spending close to £1200 in the process.
