Last week, K-pop group THE BOYZ’s contract with IST Entertainment officially expired, marking the end of their seven-year partnership. Ahead of the group’s move to their new agency, ONE HUNDRED, it claimed that negotiations with IST for the band’s trademark rights had fallen through due to its “unreasonable” conditions.

IST Entertainment later refuted ONE HUNDRED’s statement, sharing that it had decided to provide all 11 members of THE BOYZ with the right to use the trademark free of charge, which it had already conveyed to the group.

On Friday (December 5), ONE HUNDRED released a follow-up statement that it had concluded discussions with IST Entertainment, confirming that the group will be able to continue promoting under the same name.

“We have set aside past grievances and had open, honest discussions, prioritising THE BOYZ and their fans in reaching a resolution that benefits everyone. We sincerely thank IST Entertainment for their willingness to cooperate with an open mind,” said the new agency per The Korea Herald.

ONE HUNDRED went on to apologise for “causing fans discomfort during this process,” promising to “do our utmost to support THE BOYZ in reaching new heights and protecting their legacy.”

In other K-pop news, the Golden Disc Awards has announced the line-up for its upcoming 39th ceremony taking place in January. Set to take place across two nights, the ceremony will feature performances by top acts like aespa, NewJeans, BIBI and more.
