Melon Music Awards 2024: Winners and Performances – aespa, (G)I-DLE, PLAVE, TWS, IVE and More!

The 16th Melon Music Awards (MMA 2024) was held on November 30 at the Inspire Arena. The event celebrated the best and fan favorites in K-pop music of the year.

Key Highlights:

aespa’s Dominance: It was a big night for girl group aespa, who had an amazing winning streak with 7 awards, taking home multiple awards including Artist of the Year and Album of the Year for their groundbreaking album, Armageddon.

(G)I-DLE’s Staying Power: (G)I-DLE made a triumphant win as they earned the Record of the Year award and Soyeon won the Songwriter award. This came along with the announcement that the group have re-signed with their agency Cube Entertainment.

Rookie Sensations: Promising newcomers of the year TWS, and energic performers BOYNEXTDOOR and K-pop’s largest girl group tripleS all the delivered stunning stage performances and received well-deserved recognition for their achievements.

Meanwhile, PLAVE made history as the first virtual group to win and perform at the MMAs, befitting the first boy group in general to top the Melon Top 100 for the year 2024.

Danish artists Christopher and Lee Youngji held an exciting collaboration stage of their song ‘Trouble’ leaving the audience wanting more.

Japanese pop sensation YOASOBI delivered a performance of their beloved hit songs including ‘Idol.’

Some winners who did not attend the show because of schedules such as DAY6 and IU sent in video messages of appreciation.
