Shortly after it was released at the end of October, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said that the launch of Black Ops 6 was the “biggest ever” for a Call Of Duty title. He went on to say that the title “set a record for day one players, as well as Game Pass subscriber adds on launch day. And unit sales on PlayStation and Steam were also up over 60 per cent year-over-year”.
Those early successes have kept coming as well. In a post on social media, publisher Activision Blizzard confirmed that Black Ops 6 now holds the record for most players, most hours played and most matches held in the first 30 days of any Call Of Duty title.
“Thank you to the Call Of Duty community for continuing to make the launch of Black Ops 6 one for the record books,” they wrote.

Apart from a few complaints about the inclusion of animal skins in the game, the first month of Black Ops 6 has seen the launch of season one, the arrival of fan-favourite map Nuketown and the introduction of ranked play.
“I don’t know what it is about that 90s action hero feeling, but it’s absolutely something we were inspired by,” Call Of Duty’s senior director Stephanie Snowden told NME about the game’s setting. “We wanted the game to be grounded in that particular time and place, but it’s still Call Of Duty. It needs to feel big and it needs to have really kick ass moments.”
In a five-star review of the game, NME wrote: “Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 refreshes the franchise with a feature-stuffed blockbuster. It’s the most complete Call Of Duty experience in more than a decade – and presents a strong argument for giving the series’ developers more time to make each game.”
In other news, a previously unheard Juice WRLD song is going to be unveiled during a Fortnite concert later this week. The track comes ahead of posthumous EP ‘The Party Never Ends’, which is out November 29.
