We’ve seen it all, from small-time rappers to celebrity artists, millions of dollars poured into their jewelry. But how much of these extravagant pieces are actually real? Recently, we’ve seen a major trend in moissanite jewelry. A stone that imitates diamonds and passes mainly all diamond testers.
More and more rappers are shifting from spending hundreds of thousands on diamonds, a dying market, to moissanite jewelry. Which even includes watches shockingly. Well what is moissanite? Moissanite is a stone, more common than diamond, costing almost 5% of the price of an actual diamond.
After some digging, we found the top moissanite jewelry manufacturer located in Fargo, North Dakota, by the name of Moissanite LLC. Moissanite LLC has a vast range of products, a few include Cuban chains, tennis bracelets, Rolexes, Cartiers, Audemars Piguets, rings, grills, and so much more. Their company supplies almost every possible form of jewelry you can think of in moissanite.
We even had a special chance to speak with one of the owners at Moissanite LLC, to give us a rundown on what their operation looks like.
Now before we get into that, who is Moissanite LLC? Moissanite LLC has been leading in the moissanite industry for a few years. Their client list has been kept anonymous for obvious reasons, but they claim, and have shown proof to us, that they’ve sold a lot of jewelry to a lot of influential people. A lot of social media influencers, rappers, and more, have seemed to get their fair share into buying from Moissanite LLC and expanding their jewelry collection to moissanite.
The owner Joseph Huaman claims, “A lot of people are getting rich from moissanite, not selling it, but wearing it. Being rich on Instagram is the next new hot thing. So if you have a rental, some moissanite watches, chains, etc. on, you’re going to look like a celebrity and it’s so easy to leverage that into revenue. I mean I’ve seen it myself with people I work with, it’s foolproof. It’s literally the best marketing tool or investment you can buy, even though it might not look like it”.
Why buy moissanite over diamonds? The paragraph above clearly explains it, but it’s personal preference. It’s up to you to buy a depreciating item, such as a diamond bust down watch, or you can go get moissanite, basically the same exact thing, and save your money.
Let’s dive a bit deeper into how these products work, and more about them. After our talk with Moissanite LLC, we learned that their jewelry is made with the top clarity of moissanites sourceable, under VVS moissanite. Moissanite LLC also utilizes real gold in all their jewelry.
To take it a step further, we had to get an opinion of an artist. During an interview with Yung Bans, we compared his bustdown Rolex with Moissanite LLC’s. He couldn’t tell the difference, hilariously stating that, “Nigga what the fuck? This for real? Niggas really be wearing these shits huh? I for real can’t tell the difference between these motherfuckers. I staring at it so long that I’m not gon figure out which one mine. Take this shit back I’m gon lose my joint (watch) not knowing which is real or fake”.
We showed this footage to Moissanite LLC, and the owner/CEO Joseph Alexander Huaman laughingly replied with, “Even the GOAT couldn’t tell the difference. It’s literally that good, you really can’t tell. I know some people with real bustdowns and I’ve shown them ours, they said it’s scary that this product is available to the public. It’s almost as if China is cloning watches now, like they did with designer brands.”
To wrap it up, you should really think twice before you see people flexing ice, because nowadays, it might be moissanite. Like the quote states, ‘fake it till you make it’ has become a reality for people now, especially rappers.
