Controversial Streamer Given a Lesson in South Korea

Controversial streamer Johnny Somali received some beating for his provocative actions.

Johny kissing the Statute of Peace at Itaewon

Johnny Somali has been streaming a series of disrespectful and provocative streams that Koreans cannot stomach anymore. Some weeks ago, Johnny had live-streamed kissing and dancing inappropriately at the Statue of Peace, Itaewon.

Johnny escaping from confronters

On October 24, a Korean recognized Johnny during one of his live streams and asked him to apologize for his actions. This is because the said statute symbolized the resilience and suffering of women who experienced sexual slavery under the Japanese military during World War II. During the confrontation, things got physical to the point that Johnny’s friend appeared with a weapon. Nonetheless, he was overwhelmed forcing Johnny to back off.

Johny being escorted out of Seoul subway

On September 30, Johnny was escorted out of the Seoul subway after becoming a nuisance. In this incident, Johnny was live streaming on Ramble while playing inappropriate and loud noises. The streamer later started going through the train while shouting causing the police to intervene.

Johnny Somali, a Somali-American controversial streamer, was arrested in Japan (September 2023) and permanently banned from entering Japan. With the circulating videos and the streamer’s disrespectful demeanor, many agree that the Korean government should also take stern action as a lesson to future potential offenders.
