On Monday (October 21), CJ ENM announced the return of G-Dragon at this year’s ceremony. The 2024 MAMA Awards will be held across three days. The November 21 ceremony will be held at the Hollywood Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles for the first time. Meanwhile, the November 22 and 23 ceremonies will be held at the Kyocera Dome in Osaka, Japan.

G-Dragon is set to perform at the November 23 ceremony in Osaka. It will notably be the K-pop icon’s first appearance at the awards ceremony in nine years, after Big Bang’s 2015 performance at the event.

Other previously announced performers for that day are K-pop girl groups aespa, (G)I-DLE and MEOVV, soloists BIBI and Lee Young-ji, as well as boy bands ZEROBASEONE and INI.

The MAMA Awards’ opening night in Los Angeles will include performers like KATSEYE, ILLIT, RIIZE, J.Y. Park and TWS. Meanwhile, the line-up for the second night (November 22) comprises ENHYPEN, BOYNEXTDOOR, Tomorrow X Together, IVE, TREASURE, Japanese girl group ME:I and virtual boy band PLAVE.

The 2024 MAMA Awards announced its full list of nominees last week, with SEVENTEEN, LE SSERAFIM, NewJeans, IU and Jennie being some of the biggest nominees this year. While most of the award winners will be decided by a combination of panel evaluations, streams and physical sales, fans are now able to vote in the Worldwide Fans’ Choice category on the official Mnet App.

In other K-pop news, girl group TWICE have announced the upcoming release of their 14th mini-album ‘Strategy’. The record arrives on December 6.
