It’s almost time for Record Store Day 2026, and Elton John is getting in on this year’s unique releases. A limited edition, glow-in-the-dark LP, Elton John – The Remixes, will be available to purchase exclusively at participating Record Store Day retailers on Saturday, April 18th. A digital copy of the album will be available to download on Beatport the following day, April 19th.
The new compilation album has been personally curated by Elton himself, who has been connected to club culture since his early days at New York’s iconic Studio 54. The LP features five remix tracks appearing on vinyl for the first time: ‘Cold Heart with Dua Lipa – The Blessed Madonna Extended Mix’, ‘Hold Me Closer with Britney Spears – Purple Disco Machine Extended Mix’, ‘Sad – The 2 Bears Remix Edit’, ‘Cold Heart with Dua Lipa – Claptone Remix’ and ‘Rocket Man – KDME Remix’.
Elton shared his thoughts on the release: “Record Store Day is incredibly important to me, and with this package I really think we’ve made something special for dance music fans. I first got into dance music in ’70s New York through disco and those early days at clubs like Le Jardin and Studio 54. It’s been a huge part of my life ever since.”
He continued: “As a genre, it’s so progressive, and it’s always evolving and pushing boundaries, and it’s never far from the mainstream. God knows how many 12″ dance records I’ve bought over the years, and I get sent so many great dance and electronic records that I get to champion on my Rocket Hour radio show.”
The album is being released through Positiva Records, one of the UK’s most influential dance labels. John shared, “Positiva is such an iconic label, and I’m thrilled they will be releasing this collection of my favourite remixes from over the years.”
