The Super Mario Galaxy Movie soundtrack is coming to vinyl, CD and cassette tape.

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie opened in cinemas yesterday (April 1). Despite dividing critics, the sequel to 2023’s blockbuster The Super Mario Bros. Movie is already on track to be the most successful film of 2026 so far. Returning star Jack Black (who plays Bowser) has also suggested a third movie could be released in 2029.
It’s also been confirmed that The Super Mario Galaxy Movie’s soundtrack is getting a physical release.

It’s the kind of bombastic super-sequel that made so many of us fall in love with the cinema as children; awe-inspiring, eye-widening, stardust-fueled movie magic that must be seen to be believed. The soundtrack, too, is just as epic,” reads a press release from iam8bit.

“The film’s returning composer, Emmy Nominee Brian Tyler, has taken the beloved bops of the first film’s incredible score to new interstellar heights. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie score is a full-blown auditory expedition, packed with joyful references and respectful nods to Nintendo’s original compositions by Koji Kondo.”
The 2LP set will feature 24 tracks from Brian Tyler’s Super Mario Galaxy Movie soundtrack alongside original artwork from Scott Saslow and be pressed on “night-sky inspired wonder armor purple vinyl”. A cassette tape edition and a CD version of the soundtrack are also available. Pre-orders are now live here ahead of a late 2026 release.

Following the launch of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, Nintendo boss Shigeru Miyamoto has shut down rumours of a Super Smash Bros. sequel after Star Fox’s Fox McCloud appears in the film.
