On March 31, at one of the most iconic indoor music venues in Inglewood, the Kia Forum, the ‘MAGICMAN II’ World Tour arrived in Los Angeles, kicking off the six-city North American run. The tour continues through Oakland, Vancouver, Rosemont, Brooklyn, and Toronto, with additional stops across Latin America.

Unfolded in four parts, each part perfectly divided by short films serves as a story arc of MAGICMAN through Exposition, Rising Action, Climax, Falling Action, and Resolution. A stage full of stories had the audience forget their worries, their fears, their stress – and simply live in the two hours Jackson has created.

After the first video was shown, Jackson was lifted into the air, and a beam of light was cast down on him. With the opening of “High Alone,” accompanied by screams and cheers, the concert took its place.

Teasing the audience, the video plays again, continuing the story of MAGICMAN. As the stage door opens, red light peeks through the crack. Jackson marches out onto the stage, hitting the bass with “Access.”

“HELLO,” greetings from Jackson. “I’ve been waiting for so fucking long. Let’s fucking go.”

Followed by his performance of “Hate to Love,” which ended with backup dancers shredding his clothes, leaving him helplessly kneeling on the ground in a sheer top. Bringing the connection even closer, Jackson brought his fans on stage, performing “Shadows on the Wall,” “Closer,” and “Contact” right in front of them. This sent the whole arena into a blaze of screams and cheers. It was later confirmed that one of them was Laura Sirikul (Freelance Writer and Managing Editor).

The show continued with another video as he changed into an all-white outfit. Returning on stage with “Not For Me,” “Blue,” “Everything,” “Long Gone,” and “Dopamine,” Jackson drew his fans into a vulnerable moment, listening with intent and cheers.

“Thank you for giving me a chance, guys,” Jackson relays, “For those of you who don’t know, I’m Jackson wang.”

After the sentimental call-out, Jackson dropped beneath the stage, imitating the on-screen drowning visuals. Transitioned to a percussion-led break, giving the backup dancers a solo time. Just as the audience thought the group choreography belonged to the backup dancers’ solo showtime, a surprised gasp rippled through the crowd – the center figure lifted his black cap, revealing Jackson Wang himself.

Immediately performing “BUCK,” “Let Loose,” and “TITANIC,” which Jackson took seriously, “Hands in the air. Go Crazy. Don’t care about tomorrow. You guys paid to come here to let loose. Let’s Go.” As he pleased, everyone shot up from their seats with no hesitation and swayed through the rest of “GBAD.”

The last video plays, defining “MAGICMAN is not a concept, not a theme.” Jackson explains, “Every song carries the reality, humanity, and society. Not imagined, not inspired, it’s straight from my heart. All my life, I can tell you others, find your magic, find your happiness. But the truth is, I’ve never found mine.”

His journey shows his beautiful family with a sentimental message from his mother. Following the message, Jackson came back on stage presenting, “Dear:” and “Sophie Ricky.”

Towards the end of the concert, Jackson stood in the center of the stage, bringing his love to every single fan out there: “It’s because of you guys. At some point in my life, you guys gave me a shot. I’m blessed every day, so thank you,” he continues, “I’m fucking happy now.”

As he marked the finale with “Made Me A Man,” he knelt on one knee, hands clasped together, expressing his gratitude to the fans and audience for the night.

Just as everyone thought it was over, the lights lit up green, accompanied by the ongoing chant of “Jackson, Jackson, Jackson” from fans who still did not want to leave. Jackson and his backup dancers came back on stage as the middle stage door reopened. Everyone lets out a loud scream to welcome them back on stage.

Although it was not a regular encore, it was a 30-minute, energy-packed, full stadium dance. Jackson pulled in fans, team members, producers, and even Jimmy O. Yang (comedian), who came on stage to enjoy the dance together. Everyone else was up on their feet, jumping and dancing in front of their seats.

And that was the last memory of a crazy, let-loose night with Jackson Wang.
