The first trailer for Dune: Part Three has been released and excited fans are already declaring it the best film of 2026.
The third and final part of Denis Villeneuve’s epic sci-fi saga, based on the novels of Frank Herbert, released it’s first trailer, revealing Timothée Chalamet as Paul Atreides, the leader of the House Of Atreides and messianic figure to the desert tribe of the planet Arrakis. The clip can be seen below and reveals that Paul’s lover, Chani (Zendaya) is pregnant, and both are embroiled in a violent war for the freedom of Arrakis. Audiences also get their first glimpse of Robert Pattinson as Scytale, a figure who plots to overthrow Paul. You can watch the trailer below.
Fans have taken to X (formerly Twitter) to celebrate the clip, and predict big things for the sequel. “I have seen enough. It is time to give Timothée Chalamet his first Best Actor Oscar for Dune 3 next year” wrote one, with another adding: “Oh just cancel the awards ceremony next year…we all know the best film of 2026 is here. This trailer alone clears.”

Elsewhere, another user enthused: “Anyone else hyped after watching the Dune Part 3 trailer? Oofs am excited.” One fan said this may be a turning point for Chalamet after the controversy surrounding his comments about ballet and opera, remarking simply: “Timothée’s redemption arc”.

Dune: Part Three is released in cinemas on December 18. The first posters for the film were released prior to the trailer, and you can check them out here.
The blockbuster’s release date coincides with Marvel’s crossover epic Avengers Doomsday, creating a clash similar to 2023’s Barbenheimer phenomenon, where Oppenheimer and Barbie both shared the same release dates, prompting many to embark on an unconventional double bill. Chalamet recently appeared on stage with Marvel star Robert Downey Jr, who joked that they had come up with their own name for the event: “Dunesday”.
