In this new collection, Kiro Akiyama confronts harsh realities, loneliness and emotional pain. Over the course of these eight songs, he bares his rawest feelings alongside some of his most daring music to date. The album’s title, Magic if, references an acting technique in which performers ask themselves, “What if I were…?” as a way to explore new perspectives. Inspired by this concept, he reflects on questions such as: What if I had lived a different life? What if the world were not like this? Through these imagined possibilities, the artist expands the emotional and thematic scope of his songwriting.
“I’ve completed my fifth album. In order to sing about a wider range of things than usual, I came up with some ‘what if’ hypotheses. It also includes songs that have a slightly different flavor from before, so I hope you’ll look forward to it,” Kiro Akiyama says.
With Magic if, Kiro Akiyama offers more than introspection. The album opens a window into his inner world, inviting listeners to experience his thoughts and emotions with striking honesty.
