The song has been shared as part of the ‘Super Deluxe’ version of the album ‘Box for Buddy, Box for Star’ – which is being shared by Water from Your Eyes’ Nate Amos under his new solo moniker This Is Lorelei.

Set for release on April 17, the album will be a new version of the 2024 album, and comprised of re-imaginings of the setlist, which have been recorded by a number of artists.

The first preview has been shared today, and comes from the new musical collaboration between Hayley Williams and Daniel James – Power Snatch.

The Paramore singer formed the band with the frequent collaborator after he helped write and produce tracks for her latest solo album, ‘Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’. They announced the group in January, and later helped find three new songs scattered on their social media pages.

For the new album, the two of them have put their own distinctive spin on ‘Perfect Hand’, and introduced elements of glitchy, uneasy instrumentals and haunting vocals that bring the song into new territory.

“We’ve both been fans of Nate’s for a long time, and loved getting to rework one of our favourite This Is Lorelei songs,” said Daniel James. “His natural way with lyrics and melodies made it easy to translate the song to a different place for this project. It also happened to be the song that started Power Snatch.”

Amos also shared a seal of approval for the new Power Snatch version, describing it as “beautiful”.

“Getting to hear Hayley and Dan’s beautiful take on ‘Perfect Hand’ for the first time was surreal, getting to contribute vocals was even more so. Couldn’t be more stoked for this to exist.”

The upcoming ‘Super Deluxe’ version of the album will also feature contributions from Waxahatchee, Jeff Tweedy, Snail Mail and more. Check out the full tracklist below and pre-order here.

The ‘Box for Buddy, Box for Star (Super Deluxe)’ tracklist is:

1. ‘Angel’s Eye (Bob & Sarah Amos Version)’
2. ‘Perfect Hand (Power Snatch Version)’
3. ‘I’m All Fucked Up (SASAMI Version)’
4. ‘Dancing in the Club (MJ Lenderman Version)’
5. ‘My Boy Limbo (fantasy of a broken heart feat. Jeff Tweedy Version)’
6. ‘Where’s Your Love Now (Waxahatchee Version)’
7. ‘Box For Buddy, Box For Star (LUCY (Cooper B. Handy) Version)’
8. ‘A Song The Sings About You (Momma Version)’
9. ‘Two Legs (Snail Mail Version)’
10. ‘An Extra Beat For You and Me (Tim Heidecker Version)’

The announcement of Power Snatch came shortly after Williams dropped her latest solo album, ‘Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’, last summer.

In interviews around that time, the singer shared hints that she wanted to keep exploring other musical avenues going forward, aside from Paramore and her solo music.

Last October,  she told Rolling Stone that she wanted to “be in 100 bands before I die”, because she felt like that was “the speed I work best in”.

Before then, she spoke to Kerrang! about why she wasn’t itching to start work on the follow-up to Paramore’s 2023 album ‘This Is Why’ just yet, adding that she was more focused on writing outside of the band first.

“It’s OK that it’s me by myself and not Paramore right now. Paramore will always have its time because it’s just what we do,” she said. “We cycle back in and out of it. We resent it one minute. We want to wear matching clothes in the next minute.”

Power Snatch aren’t the only ones to put their own spin on This Is Lorelei either, as last December also saw Geese frontman Cameron Winter perform an enchanting cover of ‘Where’s Your Love Now?’ while on stage in LA.
