The White House criticised for “terrifying” ‘Call Of Duty’ Iran conflict video

Donald Trump’s White House has been heavily criticised for a “terrifying” video that shows footage of the Iran conflict alongside clips of Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3.

Over the weekend, the US joined forces with Israel to attack Iran, killing the country’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran launched attacks on a number of countries in the Middle East that have ties to the United States.

“This is not only justice for the people of Iran, but for all Great Americans,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “There was not a thing [Khamenei] or the other leaders that have been killed along with him, could do.” Trump then warned that the “heavy and pinpoint bombing will continue as long as necessary to achieve our objective.”

The attack has been criticised by UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, who said the UK wouldn’t join a conflict without “a lawful basis and a viable, thought-through plan” (via the BBC).

Despite the backlash, the official X account of Donald Trump’s White House shared a new video last night (March 4) that features clips of the conflict alongside footage from a Call Of Duty killstreak animation, “courtesy of the Red, White & Blue.”

The video has been viewed more than 33million times, with many X users baffled by what they saw. “Did I just witness a real life Call Of Duty montage,” asked one person. “I got to be in a coma, there’s no way I’m in real life,” said another.

Others were outraged at the compilation. “What the fuck is wrong with you people? Americans don’t wanna see you treat war like Call Of Duty,” wrote one X user. “Children are dying because of them and they’re meme posting on Twitter,” said another. “Actually terrifying that this is our government,” added a third.

Treating this war like a video game just days after a U.S. strike likely killed more than 100 school girls takes a special kind of callousness. https://t.co/0HUNpQHPvW

In recent months, Donald Trump’s administration has used Pokemon and Halo to promote the work of controversial Immigration And Customs Enforcement officers (ICE). Despite backlash from gaming fans, the US Government has confirmed it won’t stop using popular film and video game memes.

“We will reach people where they are with content they can relate to and understand, whether that be Halo, Pokémon, Lord Of The Rings, or any other medium,” a spokesperson said.

In other news, Ice-T has been playing the recently released Resident Evil Requiem – but isn’t a fan of the horrific ‘Giant Spider’ boss.
