It’s been reported that a new game set within the God Of War universe is in the works at Sony Santa Monica.

Over the weekend, a senior writer at God Of War developers’ Sony Santa Monica updated their LinkedIn profile, saying they “helped shape the narrative vision and creative direction” for a new franchise “set within the God Of War” universe.
After the post went viral on social media, leaker NateTheHate claimed the project would focus on Faye, the wife of God Of War hero Kratos whose death kickstarts the events of the 2018 reboot. In the games, she’s played by Daredevil star Deborah Ann Woll.
Nate went on to say that the gameplay would “differ” from previous God Of War games with a stronger focus on action. The title is currently set to be released in the first half of 2027 and will be revealed later this year. Another leaker claimed the game would be similar to Devil May Cry.

Because of Faye’s involvement, fans are speculating that the new game will be a God Of War prequel. Last month Kratos’ actor Chris Judge denied he was involved in the planned remake of the original Greek God Of War trilogy but did tease his involvement in a new game, with more information due “this summer”.
Last year it was reported a new God Of War game was in development and would take place in Ancient Egypt.
Amazon Prime is currently working on a live-action adaptation of 2018’s God Of War. Last week, the studio shared a first look at Ryan Hurst as Kratos and Callum Vinson as his son Atreus. “Father and son Kratos and Atreus embark on a journey to spread the ashes of their wife and mother, Faye. Through their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human,” reads the official logline. A release date has yet to be announced but a second season has already been confirmed.
In other news, hit multiplayer game Overcooked!: All You Can Eat is coming to Netflix later this week, alongside collaborations with Stranger Things and KPop Demon Hunters.
