On Thursday (February 19), Dave Grohl and co. shared the song, announcing it as the title track of their 12th studio album, which will be released on April 24 via Roswell Records/Columbia Records (pre-order here).

Last night (February 20), the band appeared on the British chat show to give the song its live debut – watch that performance below, complete with the Scissor Sisters singer on backing vocals – and in a follow-up chat, Grohl teased that UK fans might be getting some more live shows in the near future.

They have already announced a European stadium tour that is set to include two nights at Liverpool’s Anfield Stadium at the end of June, but the singer suggested that there might be more to come.

“That’s the great thing about the band, is that we’ve been circling the planet for 30 years, so there’s not too many places we haven’t been,” he said. “So, when I look at this, and I see, ‘wait, there’s only two shows in the UK?’, they’re like, ‘oh no, the real tour is a year and a half from now’.”

“The UK loves rock’n’roll music, it just does,” he added.

Posting on Instagram, Shears said: “Sometimes you just end up in the Foo Fighters for a night!! what is life?! Thank you Foos and Graham for having us. Will never forget it!!”

Also on the show was Charli XCX, and Grohl revealed that ‘Brat’ had been on regular rotation in his household since its release, showing a video of him doing the ‘Apple dance’ with his daughter Harper.

Grohl has teased that the new album is stacked with “noisy, loud bangers” that feel like they’re from “the old days”.

In a four-star review of the ‘Your Favorite Toy’ single, NME wrote: “Foos have certainly turned up the heat, shifting to a more thrilling gear when they could cruise down the slow lane to keep things rolling across the stadium and festival circuit this summer. Despite having made headlines in recent years for drummer squabbles and infidelity, their comeback single is snarlingly unapologetic. This is not a cap-in-hand call for peace, love and understanding. It’s a middle finger statement of intent: “Nah nah nah!”

The new album is the follow-up to 2023’s ‘But Here We Are’ and it is their first with drummer Ilan Rubin, who recently took on the role after the departure of Josh Freese. The two have in fact swapped groups, with Rubin leaving Nine Inch Nails and Freese rejoining that band.

In addition to the Liverpool shows in June, the Foos will be playing a range of major European shows this summer, as well as a North American stadium tour for the summer, and they have also just announced an Australian and New Zealand tour for late 2026 and early 2027.
