Tommy Shelby returns in new ‘Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man’ trailer

A new trailer for Netflix’s Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man has arrived, giving us our first glimpse of the highly anticipated movie spin-off.

Cillian Murphy returns as Thomas “Tommy” Shelby, the notorious Birmingham gangster who starred in all six series of Peaky Blinders, which ran from 2013-2022. He now returns in a feature-length story written by series creator Steven Knight, and directed by Tom Harper, who helmed three episodes of the show.

The official synopsis reads: “Birmingham, 1940. Amidst the chaos of WWII, Tommy Shelby is driven back from a self-imposed exile to face his most destructive reckoning yet. With the future of the family and the country at stake, Tommy must face his own demons, and choose whether to confront his legacy, or burn it to the ground. By order of the Peaky Blinders…” You can watch the full trailer below.

The movie’s cast includes Hollywood stars Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, Barry Keoghan,
and Stephen Graham. From the original regular cast, Sophie Rundle returns as Ada Thorne, née Shelby, while Packy Lee, Ian Peck, and Ned Dennehy return as Tommy’s allies Johnny Dogs, Curly, and Charlie Strong respectively. Graham’s character, Hayden Stagg, appeared in two episodes of the six series of the show.

Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man will release in UK cinemas on March 6, before arriving on Netflix March 20.

Last October, the BBC announced two more series of Peaky Blinders, focusing on a new cast of characters and set in 1953. “I’m thrilled to be announcing this new chapter in the Peaky Blinders story,” Steven Knight said in a press release. “Once again, it will be rooted in Birmingham and will tell the story of a city rising from the ashes of the Birmingham blitz. The new generation of Shelbys have taken the wheel and it will be a hell of a ride.”
