Shia LaBeouf was reportedly seen lying on ground and violently attacked in new New Orleans footage

Footage of Shia LaBeouf allegedly being beaten by a group of men in New Orleans has circulated online following the actor’s arrest in the city.

The actor has been reported to be in the area since last Thursday (February 12). He was arrested on Tuesday (February 17) and charged with “two counts of simple battery”. The New Orleans Police Department said in a statement that they were called at 12:45am on Tuesday (February 17) after a member of staff at a business on Royal Street, in the city’s French Quarter, reported that he had been punched.

Previously, The Hollywood Reporter had published an article talking to bar staff in the New Orleans area, who claimed the actor had been “terrorising” the city after visiting for its Mardi Gras celebrations and getting into various disagreements with staff and members of the public. One interviewee, a doorman named Robert Skuse working for a bar called Ms Mae’s, claimed he was “inebriated” and “somewhat belligerent” when he encountered the star.

Now, TMZ has shared a video of the actor reportedly being held down and hit across the head by two men in the street. In the clip LaBeouf, who appears shirtless and on his back, struggles to get to his feet when an unidentified man allegedly hits him twice across the head and says “We gonna beat the fuck out you, boy. Chill!” The actor is then held down by the shoulders by two men before, according to the outlet’s report, police arrived on the scene.

The actor has not explicitly commented on the situation, but posted “Free me” on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday (February 18) morning. On February 15, he posted a picture of himself wearing Mardi Gras beads.
