Ahead of celebrating their third anniversary as a group, 8TURN has released their first digital single of the year, “Bruise (Embers)” on January 28th.
As a group, they have been exploring the complex side of growing up and the challenges that come with it. They started this venture during their “Electric Heart” era, which focused on the freedom of youth and moving forward. Now the group continues these emotions through their latest release, “Bruise (Embers)” which focuses on healing and growing rather than staying focused on the hurt.
Even though on music platforms the title is “Bruise,” the Korean title of the track translates to “embers,” which ties to the lyrics and music video perfectly. With the lyrics, explaining that even if the love burns out, the hurt is still there. The bruise acts like an emotional scar that stays with them as they overcome and open up once more. While the music video opens up with this phrase, “Eight defy the order, even their shadows turn into fire,” Which references the members not fitting the standard set in front of them and rather turn their fear and unknown into power.
With emotional lyrics and a semi-rock sound, the group has received high praise from fans with the mature sound they are sharing. Even their comeback performances have new and returning fans hooked with their vocals being strong and delicate but also having a choreography that is both fluid and powerful matching the idea of the release.
8TURN is also set to hold a fan concert later on this year titled, 2026 8TURN FAN CONCERT [TURN TABLE: ETERNAL FLAME] at Nodeul Island Live House in Seoul on February 27th and 28th. But for now “Bruise (Embers)” is now available on all streaming platforms.
