Taking to his alt-Instagram account, The Weeknd (AKA Abel Tesfaye) shared a series of images from his recent trip to Capcom HQ in Japan.
As well as a clip of him playing Street Fighter, the post revealed that Tesfaye has already played Resident Evil Requiem ahead of its February 27 release date.
He hasn’t shared his thoughts on the game but the rapper did pose for photos with Monster Hunter producer Ryozo Tsujimoto, Resident Evil developer Jun Takeuchi and other Capcom executives.
Resident Evil Requiem is the ninth mainline Resident Evil game and sees the return of fan-favourite soldier Leon and newcomer Grace Ashcroft.
“Experience terrifying survival horror with FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft, and dive into pulse-pounding action with legendary agent Leon S. Kennedy,” Capcom said in a press release. “Both of their journeys and unique gameplay styles intertwine into a heart-stopping, emotional experience that will chill you to your core.”
According to early previews of the game, Resident Evil Requiem is a glorious survival horror mash-up that strikes a balance between action and stealth. Resident Evil Requiem launches February 27 on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
Earlier this month, The Weeknd also visited Sega headquarters and the Pokémon theme park in Tokyo
As well as his music featuring in Fortnite, Grand Theft Auto Online and EA Sports College Football 26, The Weeknd is a huge video game fan. Last year, he relaxed after his ‘After Hours Til Dawn’ stadium tour by playing Donkey Kong and has also been spotted playing The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom on his Switch.
The Weeknd is also bringing his record-breaking ‘After Hours Til Dawn’ tour back to the UK this summer.
