The 1975’s Matty Healy has taken to Reddit to ask fans if they want to play Arc Raiders with him.

At the end of last year, Healy confirmed The 1975 had been working on new music following their impressive headline set at Glastonbury 2025. He didn’t reveal much about the follow-up to 2022’s ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language‘ but did say it could be a double album that might be called ‘DOGS’. At the end of 2025, he said the next two years “look mental” for The 1975.

In a new update shared on The 1975 subreddit, Healy confirmed that he had been “living in the studio and not sleeping much – that happens normally [about] one month a year.” He went on to say that after working on new music, he was playing dystopian extraction shooter Arc Raiders “almost religiously”.

“I’ve never had a game that’s part of my life like an album or something. It has become something I take quite seriously,” he continued. “Would be cool to play with you guys – any suggestions of how to do it without doxing my gamer tag and just blowing my shit up?”

The fact that Matty Healy plays Arc Raiders is so fucking funny to me. I love him dearly.

Arc Raiders was released in October 2025 and sees players leave the safety of the underground to scour a plant’s surface for weapons and supplies while also dealing with enemy players and hostile NPCs. It was awarded Best Multiplayer title at the 2025 Game Awards and has sold more than 12million copies. Over the weekend, Arc Raiders boss Patrick Söderlund confirmed to IGN that they had banned “thousands” of players as part of a “pretty aggressive” crackdown on cheats.

The 1975 haven’t announced any live plans for 2026 yet but they will be releasing a 10th anniversary vinyl reissue of ‘I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it‘ later this month.

The band’s manager Jamie Oborne has teased that The 1975’s new record will be “pretty extraordinary” but they’re not in any hurry to get it out. “I think they’ve earned the right to take their time. The world’s gonna be listening, so it needs to be right.”

In other news, The Simpsons legend Hank Azaria has gone viral for his video reaction to Moe The Bartender’s inclusion in Fortnite.
